water Familiarization classes

Is your toddler or child still too young or inexperienced for swimming lessons? Do they lack confidence or have fear of the water? Do they only feel safe when you are holding them in the water? If you answered yes to any of these, then our Water Familiarization course is perfect for you and your child. Think of it like a “prep” course for swimming lessons in the future.

Our one-on-one water familiarization classes provides an opportunity to get your child involved in the development of aquatic skills and water confidence, while developing social, emotional, mental and physical skills in a safe environment. Our friendly instructors will facilitate learning through a variety of fun games and activities. We currently accept children as young as 12 months!

Water Familiarization helps children to:

  • Have fun in the water

  • Develop social skills through interaction with parents, caregivers, lifeguards and instructors

  • Develop trust with parents, lifeguards and instructors

  • Explore the water

  • Be prepared for future swimming lessons

  • Develop water confidence

  • Overcome water related fears

  • Learn how to move through the water

  • Develop independence

Cost

Pine Bluff Members: $100 for four half-hour sessions.

Non-Members: $140 for four half-hour sessions.
