Pine Bluff Park and Pool General Rules
The following rules are established for the protection and benefit of all members, and to ensure the safe and sanitary operation of the facilities. Members are requested to caution their children and guests to observe all rules and obey the pool staff; failure to comply with these rules shall be considered sufficient cause for cancellation of membership. Members bringing guests will be responsible for the conduct and safety of their guests.
Entering Pool Facility
Members must sign in with their names and the names of any guests accompanying them. “Members” are the adults and their dependents living in the same household.
A guest fee must be paid for anyone not listed on the members’ membership application.
All guests must be accompanied by a member. Members should not leave the premises while their guests remain at the Pool.
Children under age 14 must be accompanied by a responsible adult or guardian.
Anyone operating a vehicle in the parking lot must drive slowly and carefully.
Individuals using the Pine Bluff Pool and facilities do so at their own risk. Pine Bluff Park and Pool, Inc. assumes no liability for accidents or property loss.
No intoxicated persons will be allowed to use the pool facilities.
No smoking, alcoholic beverages or glass are allowed in the pool facility nor around the entry ways of the facility.
Only “on-duty” staff members are permitted in the office and concession booth.
Admission may be refused to anyone physically unfit to enter the pool.
Admission may be refused to any member whose membership fee is not paid in full.
Pool Area Safety
No running, pushing, wrestling, or causing undue disturbance in or around the Pool.
No diving in the shallow end of the pool.
No rafts or pitching balls when the pool is crowded.
No food or drinks permitted in the water.
Lifeguards
All members and their guests (adults and children) are to respect the decisions of the lifeguards as to disciplinary actions for not abiding by Pool rules.
Parents or guardians are responsible for helping their children know and obey the rules.
Depending on the severity of a problem, lifeguards can choose to blow the whistle at an individual or group of individuals, make them sit out of the Pool for a period of time, or make them leave the Pool for the remainder of that day.
The Pine Bluff Pool board members will decide if an ongoing disciplinary problem will lead to cancellation of membership.
Diving Board
Only one person is allowed on a diving board at a time.
Those using a diving board must wait until the water is clear of swimmers below before diving.
Flotation devices are not allowed while jumping off the diving boards.
Slide
Only one person is allowed at a time on the ladder and sliding board.
The forward seated position is the only acceptable position allowed on the slide.
Baby Pool
Only children ages 6 and under are allowed in the Baby Pool.
Lifeguards are not responsible for overseeing the Baby Pool area, so parents or guardians must supervise their children in the Baby Pool and its surrounding area.
Swimming Ability
Never substitute the use of a flotation device for swimming ability.
If a lifeguard doubts the swimming ability of any person, they may request that the person demonstrate their ability before being permitted to swim in the deep end and use the diving boards.
Storm Policy
The pool will be vacated for 30 minutes for thunder or lightning. Details are posted at the pool facility.
Conduct in Pool
Never fake trouble or calls for help.
No unnecessary conversation with lifeguards on duty.
Diving off someone’s shoulders will not be permitted.
No hanging or pulling on ropes.
Do not block the ladders.
No Frisbees or other flying discs are permitted in the pool or thrown over the pool at any time.
No abusive or profane language.
Report any unsafe conditions or conduct to the lifeguards or pool manager on duty.
Health Rules
No expectorating or blowing nose in the pool.
Admission into the Pool may be denied due to intoxication, open sores, skin infections, nasal or ear discharges, or any evidence of a condition that, in the opinion of staff, would jeopardize the health or safety of others at the pool.
No pets or personal animals of any kind allowed in the pool facility. The Americans with Disabilities Act DOES NOT override health laws prohibiting any and all animals from accessing the pool. This is for the health and safety of everyone, including your animals, which could be harmed by the chemicals used to sanitize the water. We are a private, members only facility, not public and therefore not governed by statutes, laws or covenants that are only applicable to public facilities that extend an invitation to the general public.
Parties during Pool Hours
Occasionally, members and non-members pay to host two-hour, semi-private parties during regular Pool hours. Pool staff may move tables to an area reserved for guests of the party Host. As needed, one or two of the picnic tables near the concessions area may be reserved for a party.
Members are asked to respect the reserved area, tables, and privacy of those attending a party. Refer any questions to the Pool manager on duty.
Cleanup
Trash must be deposited in the containers provided.
Aluminum cans should be deposited in the recycle bin near the concession window.
Each member is responsible for cleaning up after themselves and their guests (spills, trash, food, etc.)
To prevent stains, spills and food on the concrete deck should be cleaned immediately.
Chair Storage
The large shelving unit to the left of the concessions area is provided for members to store their foldable beach chairs. Large lounge chairs are not to be stored due to limited space.
Members should be sure their own chairs are clearly marked with their names. No one should use a chair belonging to another member without the member’s knowledge.
Before leaving the pool grounds, members should place chairs in the shelving unit; none should be left on the grass or around the pool.
At the end of the season, members should remove their chairs from the premises; chairs not removed will be destroyed or given away.
Please direct any questions or suggestions to the Pool manager on duty or any board member.
